Solomon's Porch is an outreach
by Yakov Levi for teaching
תורה
(Torah ٠ Bible) and immersing
those seeking to enrich their Hebraic
roots into Jewish culture, language and
ancient Hebraic thought.
Yakov teaches
fundamental principles in the Torah
without sugar-coating Torah precepts due
to powerful political, social, economic and
traditional
influences. He teaches
and opens up the plain language of the
scriptures in context to where it is
easy to understand by those pure in
heart and eager to change their ways and
submit to the social order in the
creation orchestrated by the Almighty.
Yakov is careful to teach this very
important Torah precept; do not judge
by appearances. This is also
known as pre-judgment or prejudice.
It is written in
ישעיהו (Yeshayahu ٠ Isaiah )
11:3 that the
Moshiach will not "...judge
by the sight of His
eyes,
Nor decide by
the hearing of His ears..."
Similarly,
for those familiar with the
New Testament Bible, a verse that
communicates this same principle is
found in (Yochanan ٠ John) 7:24, "Do
not judge according to appearance, but
judge with righteous judgment."
Yakov has more to say on this matter
later on the page.
Throughout the pages of this
site you will find fun & interesting
featured videos ranging from music to
documentaries & teachings. YouTube
videos contain specially selected
channels if you place your mouse over
the lower half of the video screen.
Yakov's outreach is here to serve the
local people, web community and
locations other than his hometown by
invitation. He provides key resources
for understanding the Torah (Bible).
The outreach is for everyone; whether
you are Jewish, Christian, Moslem, or
none of these faiths, you will find that
Yakov has unique and select resources
testifying of the
existence of a Creator in the Universe
and overwhelming tangible evidence that His Words
are written in the Torah. When
these Words are properly translated and
sincerely interpreted in context, you
will find that the Creator of the
Universe is a very loving and just
(E-l-ohim ٠ G-d) with rules of conduct
to protect His creation and especially
that which is made in His own image;
mankind.
Yakov
offers much material to help search out עברי
(Ivri ٠ Hebrew)
roots
and learn the Torah (Bible) from
a Jewish and/or Hebraic understanding.
His
outreach provides access to
synagogue style
סדור
(siddur ٠ prayer books),
key reference to books on
Judaism
that help understand the Bible from a
Hebraic foundation. His
outreach offers an opportunity
to see if there
really is a Creator in the
universe from the vast resources
of proven and sound teaching material
available. Much of the
teaching material has a basis in
scientific, archaeological, astronomical,
mathematical, statistical,
historical, prophetic and literary foundations with
much evidence in the realm of being
miraculous. Yakov also has a
תורה ספר
(Sefer
Torah
٠
Book of Torah) for direct study
of the Hebrew as laid out in a Torah
scroll. When a Torah scroll is
read directly, more miracles reveal
themselves to the reader. Be sure
to visit the online "Library and Store"
accessible by the main menu at the top
of this page. The selection
reflects a majority proportion of the
material Yakov has to teach from.
However, unique items or items that are
not readily available on the web could
not be included in the online library.

Yakov is
personally dedicated to
teach what it means to live in
Covenant Relationship as Sons
and Daughters
of
the א-ל-והים
(E-l-ohim ٠ G-d) of אברהם (Avraham
٠ Abraham),
יצחק (Yitzhak ٠ Isaac) and
יעקב (Ya'acov
٠ Jacob); for א-ל
ש-די (E-l Sh-addai
٠ G-d Almighty) is an E-l-ohim of
covenant. All those who will attach
themselves to ישראל
(Yisra'êl ٠ Israel) through redemption
of משיחבןיוסף (Moshiach ben Yossef
٠ Messiah son of Joseph) and משיחבןדוד(Moshiach ben
David ٠ Messiah son of David) are a part of Yisra'êl.
Yakov is wholly
committed to teach the
principles of Justice, Mercy and Order
in Torah for it is written, “Righteousness
and justice are the foundation of Your
throne; Mercy and truth go before your
face,” per
Tehillim (Psalm)
89:14.
Righteousness is synonymous with Torah
principles and justice is the proper
balance of those principles in
application to life. Anyone
professing to teach the Torah (Bible)
must first sit on a throne of
righteousness and justice. Truth
can only be arrived by due process of
justice, and this is one principle where
there is a lack of understanding by most who claim
they want to follow the Torah (Bible).
This is self-evident by the
differentiation in belief and
fragmentation of those people who say
they follow the Bible which teaches
"unity" or "echad" of the people as one
family.
A
balanced approach to principles of
Justice and Mercy seriously needs to be
taught. Yakov's areas of teaching includes Torah
(Biblical) Timekeeping; Torah (Biblical)
Marriage; שבת
(Shabbat ٠ Sabbath) and מועדים (Moedim
٠ Feasts); Torah (Biblical) Health;
principles of Justice, Mercy
and Order in Torah and events leading to
Moshiach's redemption of all Yisra'êl from
exile.
Yakov has select resources
for studying the Torah from a Hebraic
understanding that includes a Hebrew library
containing the Midrash Rabbah, Tenach,
Siddurim, Chumash, Mishnah, Mikraot
Gedolot - Be'reshit, Sefer Torah, Sefer haYahshar, select teachings from Rabbi
Aryeh Kaplan, etc. There are also
a wealth of select resources online that
he refers to and teaches from. You
will find a proportion of these in the
"Programs & Teachings" option in the
main menu at the top of this page.
Yakov does
not support all the teachings in the
reference materials or online resources but rather
he uses
them as a guide. Discernment is
needed and has to be founded on Torah
(Biblical) principles.
As a
teacher of select Torah principles Yakov
offers resources for insight into very
specific areas of Jewish
mysticism also known as קבלה (Kabala).
This phraseology is often misunderstood,
but really amounts to a deeper
understanding of foundational Torah (Biblical)
principles when properly
used. This level of understanding
the Torah (Bible) is defined among
Rabbis as Drash and Sod. There is
a form a Kabala that is witchcraft; when
man tries to use the deep insights of
the Torah to be like E-l-ohim (G-d).
Yakov teaches you how to discern this
and avoid it.

Here is a
glimpse of true and pure Kabala; the
signature of E-l-ohim.
At a Kabalistic level, one gains insight
into an important
principle that
following Torah is to keep a sincerity
of the heart and that the Torah is the
symbolically the heart of י-ה-ו-ה (Y-H-V-H
٠ The LORD). This principle is
expressly and symbolically taught throughout the
scriptures, and is alluded to at a
deeper level by the first (
– bet - 2) and last (
– lamed - 30) Hebrew letters of the five
books of משה
(Moshe ٠ Moses). The first and last
letter of the Torah spell “heart” in
Hebrew (
= lev = “heart”) with a gematria value
of 32. Can you see how Abba
(Father) uses deep insights from the
scriptures to bring depth to an express
principle?
This number 32 is the sum
value of the Torah and brings depth to
another fundamental principle of Torah.
The mouth of the human being has 32
teeth that is yielded by a person's
first adult set. The principle
that is brought to a deeper level here
is that the mouth
of the human being is destined to speak
of the Torah and is alluded to by
the 32 teeth that is yielded by a
person’s first adult set. Now we
can understand at a deeper level of
Torah called "Drash" or "Sod" why
breaking of the 9th commandment or bearing false
witness against a neighbor, written or
oral, is a
serious matter with serious
consequences. In the eyes of E-l-ohim,
bearing false witness is likened to
murder. The consequences of
bearing false witness can lead to a
person's or group's social,
psychological, marital, spiritual and
economic destruction. In worse
cases, it leads to murder or unjust
persecution.

Bearing false witness is known in
Judaism as the "evil tongue" or "Lashon Hara."
If you click the link, you'll see that
Wikipedia does a nice job defining this
term.
What this really amounts to is that an
individual should always think the
best of his or her neighbor unless
proven by credible eye-witness account
to be guilty of a crime transgressing
Torah principles in a just court.
These crimes are usually in the realm of
injuring a neighbor. In this court
diligent inquiries are to be made and
all facts are presented and weighed on
scales of justice that are properly
balanced. This is why we have the
saying "innocent until proven guilty" in
the philosophy of governance the
Founding Fathers of the United States
held. They had embraced many Torah
principles as a result of their study of
the Bible.
Even if something is
true and it is presented in a negative
light, out of context, or
prematurely; it
is bearing false witness. It is
bearing false witness because it
can diminish the positive view neighbors have of
that person or group. We have
witnessed this abuse in the media, the
resulting effect of sound bytes out of
context. If you
hold negative thoughts about a person
without just cause per Torah principles,
you are bearing false witness.
This is a universal Torah principle
based on the the premise that all
Yisra'êl (Israel) is one family under
one אב
(Av ٠ Father) with one Law (Torah).
It is the Torah principle that is
summed up in this one commandment, "You
shall not take vengeance, nor bear a
grudge against the children of your
people, but you shall love your
neighbor as yourself: I am the
LORD,"
ויקרה
(Vayikra ٠ Leviticus 19:18).
Here is one more
example
of Drash or Sod. The first word of
Be'reshit commonly known as the Book of
Genesis is,
,
or "Be'reshit" in Hebrew.
"Be'reshit" is literally translated as
"In the beginning." At a deeper
level, by a single permutation
(re-ordering) of the
letters in the word
,
"Be'reshit", we get
,
which is "aleph b'Tishri" in Hebrew.
Or to translate into English, it means
"on the 1st of Tishri." So now at
a single deeper level we know that "In
the beginning" started on the
Hebrew date of Tishri 1. The Torah
is filled with nearly limitless examples
like this, but we are to discover them.
It is written in
משלי
(Mishleh ٠ Proverbs) 25:2,
"It is the
glory of E-l-ohim to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out
a matter."
One last point, the exuberant
anticipation and expectation of a coming
Righteous One or Moshiach is very much a
Jewish vision. Moshiach's identity
can be found throughout the scriptures
at a Peshat level or at the plain
language of scripture throughout the
Tenach. More importantly,
Moshiach's identity is even more
thoroughly found at the deeper levels of
Torah in Kabala. It is a hidden
concept in the Tenach that is revealed
to those with the spiritual eyes to
discern it; and can be better understood
by learning the concepts of the
Sefirotic tree or "Tree of Life" in
Kabala. For those who are
familiar with what is commonly called
"The New Testament," there are many
concepts in there that parallel
Kabalistic themes in regards to
Moshiach.
There have been many
Messianic figures in Jewish history but
there's only one that stands out in that
crowd; and that figure is most commonly
known as "Jesus Christ." In Hebrew
"Jesus Christ" is known as Yeshua ben
Yossef of Netzeret or Yeshua son of
Joseph of Nazareth. In light of
this, was Yeshua the promised Messiah or
an imposter? A closer look at the
Sefirotic tree and Kabalistic concepts unravels many
Messianic
mysteries.

(left).
While in the Spokane location, Yakov had
an opportunity to sponsor a
speaker from Yisra'êl, Reuven Prager of
Beged Ivri (BegedIvri.com).
Beged Ivri is a Levitical Ministry
established in 1983 in Yisra'êl for the
research and restoration of ancient
Yisra'êlite
(Israelite) customs in preparation for
rebuilding the Third Temple in
ירושלים (Ye'rushalayim
٠ Jerusalem). This is a key
prophesied event in the Tenach (Bible).
It's significance should be well
understood. Reuven Prager is a
practicing Levite. To the right is

For Christians seeking their Hebraic
roots, Yakov offers a variety of Hebrew
teaching resources on computer, DVD, CD
and computer based Hebrew games.
Yakov
also offers popular teachings from Dr.
Danny Ben-Gigi, Michael Rood, Eddie
Chumney, Monte Judah, Brad Scott, Avi
Ben Mordechai, First Fruits of Zion, Bob
Wadsworth, Ron Wyatt, Chuck Missler and
many titles from the Prophecy Club.
Teachings cover various topics ranging
from Torah (Bible) based health
principles, to Biblical Archaeology,
Biblical astronomy, Feast Days, Kosher
dieting, Hebrew, prophecy from a
Hebraic/Jewish understanding in light of
Christian-based insight of the Torah (Bible),
etc. The online Library and Store
has a sample selection from his personal library
but it does not contain many of the
specialty reference works. These
specialty reference works are not
available through popular Internet
sources such as Amazon.
A variety of music titles from
both the Jewish and Messianic Jewish
genres are available to immerse oneself
in the Jewish/Hebraic culture. One of
Yakov's favorites is the
, etc.&n
include artists such as Ted Pearce,
Lamb, Paul Wilbur, Jonathan Settel, Joel
Chernof, Barry & Batya Segal, Marty
Goetz, Karen Davis, etc.
Studies are privately held
due to the depth of topics presented.
To the left is a picture of the former
meeting table, and top-left is a picture
of the
small library of resource materials
while in the Spokane location.
Yakov is no longer maintaining a facility due
to the expense and maintenance involved.
He is now available to meet privately in homes,
centers that are rented out, churches and on the
web. All
furnishings from the original centers in
Spokane and Priest River have been
preserved as such time as E-l-ohim
allows its re-use. Yakov still keeps
and maintains all resources from the
center's library and much of that
information is available here online.
