The fullness of principles
in regards to Biblical
marriage can only be understood in the context of a
Patriarchal Marriage Order in the scriptures.
By not recognizing this order, key storylines in the
Tenach (OT) and B'rit Chadasha (NT) have been misunderstood
Be aware that in the restoration of the Patriarchal
Marriage Order in the Torah, its counterfeit forms
will emerge first before its true form is
established by Y-H-V-H's (The LORD's) anointed. This
is the result of HaSatan's pre-emptive strike
against restoration of truth in order to confuse the
There are too many obvious scriptures that
cannot be ignored establishing this order.
Therefore, anyone who says they embrace the Torah has no choice
but to acknowledge this; otherwise they are
hypocrites or have been taught erroneously by
hypocrites. It is written about these types of
so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but
inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness;"
Those that are exclusively "New Covenant" oriented
followers of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) are
not expected to understand the topics presented here
because they operate under the premise that "the law
is abolished." That is, most in this group do
not believe the precepts in the "Old Testament "
apply. Therefore, this group, based on
principle, has a more acceptable reason why they do
not recognize the established Patriarchal Marriage
Order in the Torah.
The Patriarchal Marriage Order can been seen at all four levels of Torah
study, that is, at the Peshat (express), Remez
(implied), Drash (symbolic) and Sod (hint-mystery) levels
of the Torah.
The use of language, laws, stories and prophecies in the Torah reveals this order
as you will plainly see when it is pointed out to
you. The veil of blindness is uncovered if you
have a sincere heart, are willing to change, and
submit to the social order orchestrated by El Shaddai (God Almighty). His creation is
designed to work in harmony when both natural and
spiritual laws are observed. There is a
created nature and role to all things. The
Patriarchal Marriage Order is orchestrated in the
the created nature and roles are adulterated,
modified or reversed, chaos, perversion and the lack of peace
Be sure to understand that in the transformation
process to restore His original design, tribulation
is required. Such is the story of the flood.
There was chaos and disorder on earth in the days of
Noah. Elohim (God) had to bring the Great
Tribulation of the flood to re-establish peace on
earth through one family. This cycle will be
upon us shortly as we approach the time of Jacob's
Trouble and the Great Tribulation.
Interwoven into the language, laws, stories and
the Torah is a clear testimony that reveals a
Patriarchal Order in the scriptures, or better
phrased as the
Patriarchal Marriage Order. That is, it was intended
in the creation design that a man was expected to marry more
than one woman. The Torah reveals the following
highlights among many others. The
highlights are not intended to develop the
concepts in depth; but instead quickly give you a
Story of David...
It is written, "Then
Nathan said to David, 'You are the man! Thus says
the LORD God of Israel: 'I anointed you king over
Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I
GAVE YOU YOUR MASTER'S HOUSE and YOUR MASTER'S WIVES
into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel
and Judah. And IF THAT HAD BEEN TOO LITTLE, I ALSO
WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU MUCH MORE! Why have you
despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in
His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with
the sword; you have taken his wife to be your wife,
and have killed him with the sword of the people of
Ammon. Now therefore, the sword shall never depart
from your house, because you have despised Me, and
have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your
wife;' " 2
A key principle established here is that Yahuah
Elohim (The LORD God) gives a wife as a blessing and it is not
limited to just one. King Saul had many wives
when his kingdom was taken away. Yah gave King
Saul's wives to David. At this time, David
already had many wives, at least six named wives
(2 Samuel 3)
already before adding King Saul's wives.
Notice David is severely punished by Yahuah
E-l-ohim for adultery as well as murder.
Adultery is the stealing of another man's wife.
It is a serious crime. Yah tells David, if the
wives he already had were not enough, He would have
given David many more wives. David's crime was
adultery. This is just one passage of other
key passages that explicitly reveal Yah bringing
more than one woman to be a wife of a single man.
After the Ten Commandments were Spoken on Mt.
The first regulations to be made had to
do with the Master-Servant order in the scriptures
as well as the Patriarchal Order. If you read
you will witness that my statement is correct.
outlines the Ten Commandments and
begins with regulating Hebrew servants. It is
he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her
food, her clothing, and her marriage rights;" Exodus
The context of this passage is a situation where a
master takes a female servant as a wife in addition
to wives he may already have. The Torah
includes this passage to establish a principle for
protecting the servant wife. Developing this
precept is beyond the scope of this introduction.
Laws of Sexual Immorality...
It is written, "None
of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to
him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the LORD.
The nakedness of your father or the NAKEDNESS OF
YOUR MOTHER you shall not uncover. She is your
mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.
The NAKEDNESS OF YOUR FATHER'S WIFE you shall not
uncover; it is your father's nakedness;" Leviticus
Why does the Torah say, "...the
nakedness of your mother... "
and then in the next passage "...the
nakedness of your father's wife?"
These two statements appear redundant if you don't
know there is a Patriarchal Order in the scriptures.
The "nakedness of your mother" is not the same as
"the nakedness of your father's wife." There
is a clear distinction between "the nakedness
of your mother " and "the nakedness of your father's
wife. " In a patriarchal family, a woman who is
not the mother of the man-child is "the nakedness of
your father's wife. " A woman who IS THE MOTHER
of the man-child is "the nakedness of your mother. "
Story of the Battle Between Israel and the
Israel was commanded to fight the Midianites by
E-l-ohim. This was judgment for a great
transgression committed by the elders of Midian.
They caused Israel to commit harlotry with Moabite
women and idolatry with Moabite gods (Numbers
When this story is read, be careful to remember that
Moses' father-in-law, Jethro, was a Midianite (Exodus
As well, Moses' wife, Zipporah was also a Midianite
Yah used Israel to bring judgment upon a community
of people who brought idolatry and harlotry into the
community of Israel.
There were 12,000 men of war, one-thousand from each
tribe of Israel. In this testimony, all the
Midianites were killed except the young virgin
Midianite girls; this was done by the order of Yah.
It is written that there were 32,000 persons kept
alive; that is 32,000 female virgins. Not a
man of war was missing after this battle. All
12,000 men remained alive. By order of Yah,
half the plunder was to be given to the men of war.
That is, 16,000 female virgins were to be given as
wives to the men of war by order of E-l-ohim.
Even if anyone was to contest that the
12,000 men were all unmarried, you
still have 12,000 men married to 16,000 women.
That is a Patriarchal Order. Most of these men
were likely married, and probably to more than one
woman before they went out to war.
This story is another example where Y-a-huah
E-l-ohim gives more than one woman to a single man.
This is a Patriarchal Order. This story is
also the foreshadow for the ministry of the 144,000.
The 12,000 men who did not die in war hint towards
the ministry of the 144,000. Twelve-thousand
times 12 is 144,000. Similarly, 12 disciples
times 12 times 1,000 is 144,000. The 144,000
do not die during their 3.5 year ministry.
Book of Judges...
In the book of Judges, most of the Judges had many,
many children. The number of children the Judges
bore could only be accomplished in a Patriarchal
family. A judge was an elder of high regard in
the community of Israel who excelled in
understanding the Torah and its precepts in
comparison to others.
Famous Judge Gideon...
It is written about Gideon, "Gideon
has seventy sons who were his own offspring, for he
had many wives;" Judges
This icon of a prophet, the prophet to the first
king of Israel, King Saul, was the child of Elkanah
who had two wives; 1
If you carefully observe the language of the
relevant scriptures, you will realize that Abraham
was the son of a man who had more than one wife.
and the Exodus...
Few recognize that Moses married a second wife
in the Exodus. He first married Zipporah and
then the Ethiopian. This is also a hint for
the Restoration of the Patriarchal Order in the
Laws Associated with Inheritance...
It is written, "If
brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and
has no son, the widow of the dead man shall not be
married to a stranger outside the family; her
husband's brother shall go in to her, take her as
his wife, and perform the duty of a husband's
brother to her;" Deuteronomy
The brother may or may not already be married; in
the first case the brother will have added another
Prophecy of its Restoration...
It is written, "And
in that day seven women shall take
hold of one man, saying,
'We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel;
Only let us be called by your name,
To take away our reproach'
"In that day " is a reference to the coming 7th
Millennia which begins with the Great Tribulation.
Women who have a heart for E-l-ohim will seek
husbands because they will realize the social order
in the creation orchestrated by El Shaddai and will
seek to follow in His Ways. By this time, many
will have been humbled by the trials and
tribulations of the first 3.5 years of Jacob's
Story of Biblical Courtship and Eroticism...
In the Song of Solomon, it is written,
sixty queens And eighty concubines, And virgins
without number. My dove, my perfect one, Is
the only one, The only one of her mother, The
favorite of the one who bore her. The
daughters saw her And called her blessed, The
queens and the concubines, And they praised her;" Song of
The Song of Solomon is a picture of
Solomon's very own wives joyfully welcoming
Solomon's new wife; and she is embraced as a
unique daughter of Israel. Solomon, at the
time this Song was written, had sixty
queens in his emerging empire. This Song
is a picture of a Patriarchal family where each
woman is uniquely prized in the eyes of the husband.
The other women do not covet each other. This
is the type of courtship we need to be exposed to;
the scriptures. Not the kind of ROMA-ance
emerging from the ROMA-n empire.
Nation of Israel...
And of course, through Yakov (Jacob) and his four
wives, we have the twelve tribes of Israel.
Everyone who attaches themselves to Israel through
the redemption of Yeshua HaMashiach will have to
accept the four very great grandmothers,
the wives of Yakov, in the Millennial Kingdom.
Sod Level of Scripture which is the Mystery, Hint or
Solomon is a type of Moshiach. The 1,000 wives
of Solomon hints at the picture of Yeshua HaMashiach
and His 1,000 year reign.
Y-H-V-H Has Two Spiritual Wives Throughout the
Yah has both Judah and Israel. In this
relationship, there is one masculine
component and two feminine components.
In one dimension, this hints at the Patriarchal
There is the parable of the 10 virgins & the 7
churches in the Book of Revelation. The most
applicable understanding of the ten virgins is they
are the "church" or the bride, waiting for the
bridegroom; they are NOT bridesmaids. The
seven churches are also the bride. They are
seven distinct churches but yet they are one.
A part of this body of brides will repent and will
be cleansed, a part will not. This is a
picture of a Patriarchal Marriage Order.
Name of Y-H-V-H (
In the name of our Creator is a picture of a
Patriarchal Marriage Order. The Sages teach

(Vav) is symbolized by the hook and is used to join
two things into relationship. In one
dimension, in the Name, you have a masculine
component and two feminine components joined
together. In one dimension, this hints at the
Patriarchal Marriage Order.
The above are just a few key and insightful examples at
the Peshat, Remez, Drash and Sod levels of scripture
that reveal the Patriarchal Order in the Torah.
There are many more examples not highlighted here.
Key Fallacies Denying the Patriarchal Order...
Adam and Eve Fallacy
Many try to establish the precept of monogamy
relying exclusively on the translated
story of Adam and Chava (Eve). They place a
heavy weight upon this scripture and use it to
establish doctrine to their own liking, ignoring
other weighty interwoven principles throughout the
Torah, Prophets, Holy Writings and even the B'rit
Chadasha. Chava was Adam's first wife, but
there no premise to conclude that he didn't have
more. A man has to start with a first wife.
The Tragedy Fallacy
Most have been teaching a fallacy in understanding
the Torah with this assumption that there were,
"tragedies that befall those who took more than one
wife." The select
passages presented above negates this
false premise. In
applying this fallacy, we would have to conclude
that Yah gave additional wives to David and these
men of war to "befall tragedies upon them." Many
other passages which cannot be presented in this
short introduction also negates this fallacy.
The reason there were problems in the patriarchal
marriages was because of jealousies, haughtiness,
pride, rejection, unjust actions, lack of the fruits of the Spirit,
etc. An unclean personality and/or
unclean-evil spirit is the cause of broken
If the logic of this fallacy is applied to modern
society, observation will conclude that because many
monogamous marriages end in divorce, especially in
the church, that there is a "tragedy that befalls
those who enter a monogamous heterosexual marriage."
Therefore, as a people we should avoid heterosexual
marriage and may be even adopt homosexuality.
Extending the fallacy of the logic, we can conclude
that we need to avoid church because " tragedy
befalls those who enter a monogamous marriage,"
especially in the church.
Renewed Testament "One Wife " Fallacy
In a Facebook discussion thread, a friend wrote, "...Well,
your answer has certainly helped clear up a few
things for me, but my mind is thrown back to when
the Apostle Paul was setting out the guidelines for
the Messianic communities and how the elders where
to have one wife...I think this is another verse
that is quite often used to argue Adonai's 'stance'
on polygamy. Sorry for putting in another question
ha ha but I'm just wondering what would be the
significance of the elders specifically having one
wife? Could one even argue that God was laying down
a principle that one man and one wife is God's
ideal? Especially when these men were obviously
going to be of influence and leadership in the
community? Then again, so were our Patriarchs
leaders and examples as well. "
My reply was, "...you hit the mark. You wrote,
'Then again, so were our Patriarchs leaders and
examples as well.' Absolutely ! This simple
observation should immediately raise a red flag
about the translation. If you research the
Greek word used here, "one " can also mean "a " or
"first. " This drastically changes the meaning of
those NT verses. " It changes the
meaning to where the principle is established that a
man either MUST be married or MUST NOT be divorced
from his first wife. These precepts are much
more sound in light of other weighty themes of the
Bible. The details for
clarifying this is beyond the scope of this short
Generally, the very same people who deny the
Biblical Patriarchal Order are likely the same
people who have participated or are participating in serial polygamy; a
standard for sexual relationships in today's
society; marrying, divorcing, re-marring, or just
keeping casual sexual relationships outside of the
framework of Torah Marriage precepts.
The Lamech Excuse
It is argued that because the term "two wives" is
first used in the story of Lamech, and he killed
a man; that having more than one wife is associated
with murder. Let's extend this convoluted
logic. The first apparently monogamous
marriage led to the first birth of a son who
was the first murderer. Therefore,
monogamous marriage leads to bad fruit; it leads to
murderous children. So let's support
homosexuality and lesbianism; there's no fruit.
Get the point?
The foundation for understanding the principles
communicated in the stories of the Tenach and B'rit
Chadasha must be based on the recognition that there
is an underlying Patriarchal Marriage Order in the creation.
The principles are INTERWOVEN in the use of
language, laws, stories
of the Bible. No piece of scripture is to be
taken out of context, twisted and convoluted to
establish a precept. This is Jezebel and it
Insight on Noah...
Just for insight; the wife of Noah is the only one
who is not named among the wives of the key Patriarchs.
There is a reason why. She was not the mother
of all three children on the Ark. The three
races of humanity we know today, come from Noah's
wives. Only one of his wives made it into the
Ark. The details of this testimony is beyond
the scope of this short introduction.
Biblical Marriage is not a License...
Marriage per the Torah
has nothing to do with holding a government license
for marriage. Per the Torah, a marriage
covenant, with few exceptions, is sealed by the
sexual union between a man and a woman. The
man and woman at this time enter a "wholehearted
commitment" , a lifelong "covenant relationship" with each
other. Therefore, what Yahuah Elohim sees
as marriage is vastly different than what secular
governments see as marriage.
A secular man who has more than one girlfriend and
has sexual relations with them is seen as married to
them by Yah, whereas, a secular government sees
these as flings, mistresses, affairs or
relationships. And, of course, it is likely
this secular man's girlfriends probably have other
boyfriends that they have sexual relations with.
In this case, there is perpetual adultery among the
parties involved in the eye of the King of Kings.
This is really polygamy.
Today, many people have entered into social
relationships of a sexual nature. Most of this
is not based on Torah principles. However,
these plural relationships are adopted
by social-sexual-financial needs of various groups
Often a good marriage is broken up by the initiative
of an unfaithful husband. That trend is now
reversed as woman begin to enter the path of unfaithfulness
due to the uprising Jezebel spirit. The male
tendency to have affairs is rooted in the
Patriarchal Order inherent in the creation; for most
men, it is part of their desire to have more than
one woman. In the framework of today's
society, this desire leads to an affair that typically leads to divorce and
deterioration of the family. Society today is
more accepting of what you can call serial polygamy
and broken families.
The apposing force of the Patriarchal Order in the
Torah is the Jezebel spirit that carries with it the
Matriarchal Order. This is HaSatan's reversal
of the order in the creation. As we approach
the 7th Millennia, the Matriarchal Order gains its
momentum but only to be destroyed through the Great
Tribulation and Return of the King.
When you observe the pervasiveness of the Jezebel
spirit, you will also realize that the spirit of
Ahab is just as pervasive. Where Jezebel is
found, there is Ahab. Such is the pre-dominant
relationship between women and men today.
for a Successful Patriarchal Family...
A patriarchal family can only be successful if the
man and women understand their respective roles in
the creation order. A man must operate his
home with justice and mercy. A woman must be
willing to submit to the order orchestrated by her
husband in the home, accept her blessing and role,
and not covet the blessings and roles of the other
women. It is a concept that parallels the role
of congregations in the body of the bride of
The weightiest principle and the real key to success
is the woman's submission and desire to honor her
husband because she knows the principles of headship
testified in the Torah. It is written, among
many other scriptures that testify the same
in this manner, in former times, the holy women who
trusted in God also adorned themselves, being
submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed
Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are
if you do good and are not afraid with any terror;"
The best book I know that testifies accurately the
highest principles in the Torah on the role of a
wife is written by Debi Pearl, titled "Created to Be His Help Meet: Discover How God Can Make Your Marriage Glorious." In this 290 page book, I
can think of only 3 pages of counsel Debi offers
that I would modify slightly. She has
testimonies of very successful actual life examples
when E-l-ohim's principles are followed. In the
introduction, her husband, Michael Pearl, fully
endorses her book.
Debi presents powerful truths in regards to the role of a
wife in a marriage. Debi does such a great job, there's no need for any other
teaching other than what I presented in "Teachings"
section on "Covenants, Oaths and Authority" that will open up the Torah based
scriptures that form the foundation for Debi's
testimonies. The principles are simple but it
takes a book and powerful testimony to re-establish
what has been lost. Before the Patriarchal Marriage
Order can be properly restored, women must learn
again how to be a "help meet" like the matriarchs of
The importance and weightiness of these principles
are all outlined in the Torah if you know where to
look and they are opened up for you. Be sure
to read the teaching titled, "Introduction to
Covenant Relationship and A Husband's Authority" available in the noted section
One of the serious problems I see in the plural
relationship movement is the formation of sorority
type relations among the women interested in this
family order. This does not agree with Torah
principles. This opens up the door to a
Jezebel spirit; and inclines the husband to turn
into a type of puppet instead of a real head of the
home as the Patriarchs were.
The emphasis should be on the husband-wife
relationship which carries with it fences. In
the natural, a marriage is to be modeled after the
principles set forth in the model of marriage
between Yeshua HaMashiach and His Bride.
Although women in a patriarchal family should be
sisters in Messiah, the weightier relationship is
with the man of the home.
HaSatan has been Social Re-Engineering for
HaSatan has been a master of social re-engineering
for thousands of years. A principle that the
military follows is "if you can't change the person,
change his environment." It is a good
principle if it is used to support Torah precepts,
but can be destructive if it is against Torah
Most people are made to be sheep, and only a select

It is a shepherd's responsibility to dutifully teach
the Torah AS IT IS and have a wholehearted
commitment to teach the sheep and safeguard against
false teachings and false prophets.
HaSatan's social re-engineering has come to a climax
as we get closer to the 7th Millennia. The
ancient path of the Torah is about to be restored by
Y-H-V-H Himself through the trials of the Great
Tribulation and ministry of the 144,000 and Two
Witnesses. Why wait? Get in line with the
social order of the Kingdom now. The
Patriarchal Marriage Order is just one of them; it
is for blessing if you receive it.
